Rick Ward

Rick Ward has over 37 years of Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI), construction management, project management, and contract administration experience. He began his career with the Florida Department of Transportation and has spent the last 28 years as a consultant providing project construction engineering and management for FDOT and local governments, as well as serving as the lead engineer and project manager on numerous projects throughout Florida.

Rick is a leader for SAM projects, serving as area manager for construction services across the state of Florida, where he is responsible for business development, construction contract execution and administration, field engineering, and quality control. Rick is a Registered Professional Engineer in Florida and a member of several engineering associations, including the Florida Engineering Society (FES) and the American Council of Engineering Companies of Florida (ACEC-FL) where he has been a Transportation and CEI committee member for the past 28 years.

Rick’s favorite core value is People. He has a passion for mentoring and developing employees and building strong teams to deliver exceptional services for our clients. He is actively involved in his community through his volunteer efforts with the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center Foundation to support scholarships for nursing and health career students and working with designated local charities with similar missions. He currently resides in Lakewood Ranch, Florida with his wife and Scottish Terrier, Fergus, and enjoys spending his spare time with his granddaughter, playing one of his several guitars, or a round of golf.
