Welcoming You to SAM

Transitioning from active duty can feel like stepping into the unknown. We recognize the challenges that veterans face during this pivotal moment, and we’re committed to not only hiring military leaders, but also embracing them as integral members of our team. Our service members have the attitude, habits, and dedication to provide excellence in everything they do. We’ll help you apply these strengths and leverage your skills for meaningful work. With growth opportunities and training programs, SAM offers career advancement to help you flourish long after your time in the service.

How We Support Our Veterans

SAM honors the sacrifices that our veterans have made for our country. We believe that we owe it to you to set you up for success. That’s why we offer a two-pronged approach to your reentry into civilian life: our dedicated DoD SkillBridge program for those finishing their service and our U.S. Department of Labor apprenticeship program for those looking to gain certification while working with us. We’ll help you capitalize on your skills for a successful and meaningful civilian career. Additionally, we have strong relationships with nonprofit organizations dedicated to help you and your family start your new life off on the right foot.

Start Your SAM Career While on Active Duty

Our exclusive Department of Defense (DOD) SkillBridge program gives military personnel a unique opportunity to begin their civilian career while still assigned to active duty. With the SAM DOD SkillBridge program, you are both an active member of the military and a SAM employee. For the last six months of your service, you’ll be assigned to SAM on temporary duty and receive specialized, practical training that enables you to easily transfer your geospatial data gathering and analysis skills to a variety of positions. This will give you a unique opportunity to gain skills and job experience, while fully immersing yourself in life at SAM. At the conclusion of the program, you’ll receive an offer for your best-fit occupation.

Get Credit Through Your Experience

Our two-year geomatics technician apprenticeship program provides valuable on-the-job land surveying training, competitive hourly pay, and a Journeyman Surveyor Certification from the U.S. Department of Labor upon completion. Participating in this program allows you to accelerate your career while obtaining the training and certifications needed for your role. You can also gain college credit during your apprenticeship, reducing or even eliminating the burden of student loans.

At SAM, you’ll do more than build a career—you’ll inspire and be inspired.
