Jim Richards

Jim Richards has over 35 years of experience providing a variety of professional services in the AEC industry. Jim’s current role is the Contracting Manager for the company. His responsibilities include reviewing each of SAM’s project contracts and agreements to analyze potential risks for the company. Jim serves as the liaison between the company, project managers and business development personnel and clients as the main facilitator for negotiations, recommendations, record keeping, monitoring, change management, etc. for professional services prime and subcontract opportunities for SAM.
Jim is a Registered Professional Land Surveyor in Texas, Utah, South Dakota, North Dakota, Colorado, Arizona and Kentucky. As an industry veteran, Jim appreciates the unique requirements of each client to execute their projects in the most effective and cost-efficient manner. Jim’s professional experience spans a wide range of clients and projects, successfully executing contracts and agreements for projects within oil and gas, electric transmission, transportation, renewables, telecom, airport authority, military installations, master planned developments, and utility companies.

Jim’s favorite SAM core value is People. He believes that people are the key to SAM’s success and as a former US Army Drill Sergeant, he understands the role leadership plays in mentoring, encouraging, and growing people to help them achieve their goals and ensure their success. Jim is actively involved in his community through a number of Veteran programs and is passionate about helping fellow Veterans!
