Gary S. Vedro

Gary Vedro has over 30 years of experience delivering multidisciplinary professional services in the AEC industry. Located in the Dallas Office, he is a Senior Vice President and Regional Operations Manager. His responsibilities include assisting the Chief Operating Officer to ensure our Central and Western Region offices’ operational teams run at their peak efficiency and profitability, by reviewing staffing needs, overseeing financials, mentoring office leaders, and assuring collaboration across offices throughout the company. His leadership and management experience also helps SAM ensure the accuracy, completeness, and on-time delivery of all work we perform.

Gary’s professional experience spans a wide range of projects with agencies such as TxDOT, the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, municipal and county governments, utility companies, and private development clients. He has extensive project experience in electric transmission, rail, transportation, land development, civil design, and construction. He has been a Registered Professional Land Surveyor in the Texas since 1991 and is a graduate of Texas State Technical College, with a degree in Civil Engineering Technology. He also is a member of the Texas Society of Professional Surveyors.

Gary’s favorite SAM core value is People. He believes successful leaders are ones who become more conscious of the culture they create in an organization. They should strive to create cultures that understand teamwork, where employees feel valued, are empowered, and can identify a path for the future. Gary is active in the community by helping others in need and volunteers at the North Texas Food Bank. He enjoys working on home improvement projects with his wife, outdoor activities, and spending time with his six grandchildren.
