Bob Williams

Bob Williams has over 35 years of business development and operational experience in geomatics, with focused concentration in Aerial Mapping & Remote Sensing. He is currently the Marketing Lead for the company.

Bob is a technical expert in aerial surveying, photogrammetry, remote sensing, LiDAR, mobile mapping, and Geographical Information Systems (GIS). He possesses advanced business acumen in both production and management of large complex projects, and has designed, consulted, and managed multiyear, multistakeholder, multidiscipline engineering design programs for federal, state, and local governments, and in the private commercial sector.

Bob possesses technical expertise with small, medium, and large format aerial sensors, LiDAR acquisition, and processing including airborne manned and unmanned platforms, mobile mapping, and static terrestrial scanning. At SAM, he has been the thought leader for the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) adoption for infrastructure inspection and condition assessment for electric T&D.

Bob has a Bachelor of Science in Map Technology from Missouri State University, with many graduate level courses in AI, ML, GIS, and remote sensing. He was awarded an American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) Certified Photogrammetrist in 1994 and Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA) GIS Professional in 2013.

Bob’s favorite core value is People. He believes we have worked hard to bring this value into our everyday conscience and is very proud of the culturally diverse group we continually invest in and develop. We are stronger today because of our diversity of thought and experience.

Bob is married with three adult sons, two stepchildren, and he lives Austin, TX. Bob grew up in Missouri and possesses strong Midwestern values consisting of a hard work ethic and a dutiful responsibility to family and friends. He enjoys a fair chase hunt, fishing, camping, and is a diehard St. Louis Cardinals fanatic.
