SAM provides all utility coordination and utility design engineering support for the $1.6B design-build project. We manage all aspects of the utility coordination and engineering efforts, including SUE investigations, the development of the utility alignment concept plan, CADD efforts, verification, and documentation of property interests, management of utility easement acquisition, and the review for reasonableness of costs of relocations. SAM also ensures that all utility engineering complies with the provisions of TxDOT’s Utility Accommodation Rules (UAR) and is compatible with the highway project. We are directly responsible for developing and negotiating all utility adjustment agreements, preparing each relocation for construction. Our project engineer coordinates closely with all other project disciplines by conducting interdisciplinary reviews (IDR) of all roadway plans, including MOT, roadway, bridge, drainage, and ITS.
