May 7, 2015

Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM) has again been recognized by Engineering News Record (ENR) as a top engineering design firm. Ranking 93 for 2015, we are pleased to again be among the top 100 companies on the annual ENR list of Top 500 Design Firms. This improves on the company’s ranking of 97 in 2014. SAM also ranked 66 for 2015 among the Top 100 Pure Designers, a category that focuses on companies not engaged in construction.

The highly regarded ENR list is published annually and profiles the leading engineering firms based on revenue. This is the fourth time that SAM has appeared on the list and our ranking trend reflects the exceptional success the company continues to experience. SAM is one of the largest geospatial services companies in North America. The 2015 ENR rankings were based on 2014 revenue and SAM grew its gross revenue to $131 million during that period.

The 2015 overall rankings appear in the May 11 edition of ENR magazine. A copy of the rankings and a companion story is available online at the ENR website.

In 2015 data subsequently published by ENR, SAM also ranked well in several market categories and regions. For the Texas/Louisiana region SAM ranked 16 out of 122 firms, with revenue of $87.47 million in the region. In the Texas/Louisiana regional subcategories, SAM ranked number one for surveying and mapping services and number 16 for revenue in Texas alone. The firm also ranked number 5 in the petroleum market sector, number 4 in the power market sector, and number 18 in transportation. Although SAM operates across North America, these rankings reflect the continued strong presence the firm has in its home market.

For Colorado/Wyoming in the Mountain States region, SAM ranked 39 out of 66 firms. The firm ranked number 5 in the petroleum market sector and number 2 in surveying and mapping services. The company also ranked number 12 among companies based solely on Wyoming revenue and ranked number 45 based solely on Colorado revenue. SAM opened its Denver office in 2012.

For the Midwest Region in 2015, overall SAM ranked 63 among the 119 firms, with a revenue of $17.57 million in the region. The ENR Midwest Region includes the states of Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, as well as eastern Missouri and parts of Ohio.
