Surveying And Mapping, Inc.® is pleased to announce its continued geographic expansion with the opening of a new full service office in Columbus, Ohio. The new office will allow SAM to bring its complete range of geospatial solutions to the Ohio region, including land surveying, airborne, mobile and terrestrial LiDAR scanning, digital aerial mapping, subsurface utility engineering, geographic information system (GIS) services, and construction phase services. SAM is one of the largest geospatial firms in North America and Columbus is the fifth full service office for the company.
Kevin Richardson, PS, has joined SAM as Office Manager for the new Columbus office. Kevin brings more than 20 years of experience in surveying operations and management for a wide range of projects including transportation, land development, utility infrastructure, aviation, hydrographic, and oil and gas. He also has extensive experience with surveying business and personnel management. Most recently Kevin was Southeast Regional Geospatial Group Manager with Woolpert in South Carolina.
Kevin is currently a licensed professional land surveyor in five states: Ohio, Kentucky, Louisiana, South Carolina, and Texas. He has a bachelor’s degree in Surveying Engineering from The Ohio State University and has completed an extensive amount of supplemental professional development programs. He is also a member of several professional and industry-related associations.
Kevin was a partner and owner of his own surveying company in Cincinnati for several years, managing all aspects of the business and its operations, including business development and financial management of the firm. After growing the company substantially he successfully sold the business to another large Ohio surveying company.
Kevin will lead a skilled team of surveying and mapping professionals to develop a new full-service SAM office in Ohio that is focused on delivering high-quality, responsive geospatial solutions to clients.
