SAM has been awarded a multi-year program with a large Midwest utility to provide GIS services for over 1,100 miles of shoreline for a reservoir and a hydro-electric generating dam. The service level agreement extends to 2026 for GIS database maintenance and orthophoto base mapping. This decades-long partnership is a testament to the power of the Managed Geospatial Services™ and its holistic view for business decision support. A holistic perspective is characterized by the belief that the parts of something are interconnected and can be explained only by reference to the whole.
The dam produces power for nearly 42,000 households in the Midwest. SAM has been providing support for the shoreline management for decades. The scope of this program supports the management of geospatial data for the operational requirements of the shoreline regulations for the Corps of Engineers and FERC licensing.
Using SAM’s Managed Geospatial Services™ platform, a framework has been created to help the utility organize and integrate multiple business systems to fulfill their strategic objectives. SAM is proud to be a trusted partner to electric and other utility companies for their business-critical Geospatial business strategy. Our MGS Solutions™ simplifies the complicated, allowing our clients to operate with the efficiency and confidence needed to reduce operational costs.
