SAM has been awarded a $1.5 M, five-year contract with the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) District Two to provide Surveying and Mapping services for the preparation of Engineering Design and Construction plans. The Districtwide program is part of a broader infrastructure improvement plan across the region.
SAM will provide Geodetic Control, Design Surveys, Construction Layout, Aerial Photogrammetric and Mobile LiDAR mapping, and Right-Of-Way mapping, which includes Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) services. The engineering-grade spatial data will integrate seamlessly into FDOT’s centralized database.
“We have been working in concert with the District for several years, and being selected again demonstrates that the quality of work and professionalism has been recognized as an asset to their team,” said SAM Office Manager, Chad Thurner, PSM, GISP. “Continuing this relationship allows us to stay in tune with their workflows and best practices. Being familiar with what is going on and what is coming up means SAM can be a true partner for the District.”
SAM’s detailed project approach and past success working with FDOT meant the District Two team fully understands that advanced technology, coupled with innovative solutions, adds value to the design and maintenance of transportation infrastructure. In addition, our deep experience working with engineering firms and local government across Florida will contribute to the overall success of the program. SAM has eight offices located in Florida, and for several decades, we have built a strong reputation as a trusted, reliable advisor serving Florida businesses and communities.
SAM’s full suite of geospatial services, as well as our unrivaled experience, enable our team to tackle large-scale programs on abbreviated schedules.
