Reuben Chandler

Reuben Chandler has over 40 years of experience in the transportation industry. Reuben is an Associate at SAM and the CEI Area Leader within North Carolina. He oversees and manages the coordination of CEI (Construction & Engineering Inspection) Services in North Carolina. His primary responsibilities include business development, project management, recruiting, hiring, and the placement of technicians.

Reuben is a registered Professional Engineer in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Ohio. He is intimately involved in several professional industry organizations, including ACEC-NC, ACEC-SC, and Carolinas AGC. Reuben’s professional experience includes a distinguished 32-year career at the North Carolina Department of Transportation, where he served in several roles before retiring as a Division Engineer. He has managed and completed a wide range of transportation projects for a variety of clients.

Reuben’s favorite SAM core value is People. He believes SAM’s people are the secret to our success. He believes we must continually invest in our people by mentoring, encouraging, and training them to be the best possible advisors to our clients. Reuben is actively involved in his community. He is the president of the local Ruritan Club and serves as Chairman of the Board at his church. He currently resides in North Carolina with his wife and two dogs.
