SAM is pleased to announce that Rhett Sloan, PLS, M.ASCE and Senior Project Manager in our Youngstown, Ohio office, has been appointed to the Utility Engineering and Surveying Institute (UESI) Board of Governors by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Board of Direction, and President-elect Maria Lehman.
UESI is the youngest institute under ASCE and is focused on the objective “to be the worldwide leader in promoting and supporting excellence in engineering, planning, design, construction, operations, and asset management for utility infrastructure and engineering surveying.”
Mr. Sloan was nominated and approved for the role based on his deep industry experience and his longtime involvement with ASCE. He is an established member known for promoting the organization across the engineering and surveying industries. He has held multiple roles developing and promoting the Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) industry, including serving as the 2022-2023 President for ASCE Akron Canton and serving on the SUE Association Board of Directors. Mr. Sloan has worked at SAM for over four years, supporting our clients across the Ohio region with SUE and surveying services.
“I am very grateful to be one of the few who find themselves able to serve on the Board of Governors for UESI and help advance the organization overall by providing input on key initiatives taking place over the next year,” said Mr. Sloan. “I hope to use this time on the board to learn how it may impact or benefit the industry both locally and nationally.”
